With the season of love right around the corner, I think it’s only right to break down some of my favorite love songs I’ve listened to throughout my life time.

Here are my top 5…

• Lil Bow Wow & Omarion - Let Me Hold You

  I’m pretty sure some people will be confused by this one. You’re probably thinking to yourself, “Out of all the love songs throughout the history of mankind, how did McGinn put a Bow Wow song on his top 5 list?” Well, you need to cut me some slack because this song was huge during my childhood. Every kid had this song on their playlist and everyone did that little dance move with their arms when the words “Let Me Hold You” were sang.

• Bruno Mars – Just The Way You Are

  This song will make the list every single time not just because of the unique music video, but mainly because of the message behind the words. I think it’s important for every man to let the woman in his life know she is beautiful in every way inside and out. There may be times where she won’t believe you because she doesn’t believe it to be true herself, but we should always help her understand how we see her every day, which is perfect just the way she is.

   

• Dan + Shay – Speechless

  There aren’t many songs in this world that make me get choked up when I hear the lyrics, unless your song is sung by Dan + Shay on a wedding day. Speechless is song that just hits different on so many levels because it perfectly explains how every groom feels on his wedding day when he sees his beautiful bride walk down the aisle.

• Nelly Feat. Kelly Rowland - Dilemma

  I can’t believe one of the biggest love songs of all time was released 20 years go. I don’t even know if Nelly and Kelly Rowland realized that this song was going to become the massive hit was then and still is today. What I love about this song is the fact that every couple loves to have fun with it. If you’re driving in the car with your significant other and this song comes on it’s usually an unwritten rule that one person takes on the roll of Nelly & the other as Kelly and you sing the lyrics to your “assigned” artist. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

• Brad Paisley - Then

  This list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the song that I hold near and dear to my heart every single second of my life, Brad Paisley’s love song titled, “Then”. This song is special to me because this is the song that my wife and I danced to on our wedding day. Every time I listen to the lyrics, it helps me realize that I love my wife more today then I did yesterday. She is my bestfriend, partner in crime and Mother to my beautiful daughter, and after everything we go through, I’ll always love her a little more and more with every second that goes by and when I’m 90 years old, I’ll still think to myself, “And I thought I loved you then”.

• HONORABLE MENTION: 98 Degrees - I Do

  I had to mention this one because it also holds a special place in my heart. A lot of people don’t know this but when I asked my wife to marry me, I had a little help from the boys of 98 Degrees at their concert in Coney Island. They brought my wife on stage and sang the song “I Do” to her which then led to me meeting her center stage and asking her to be marry me!
