Joel and Maryann Speak with Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas and Paul Doucette
Matchbox Twenty is scheduled to perform tomorrow night at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. Then they’ll take a ride to South Jersey to play for the crowd at Freedom Mortgage Pavillion in Camden, NJ.
Yesterday, Rob Thomas and Paul Doucette from the band took some time out of their tour schedule to spend a few minutes with Joel and Maryann in the Morning. They discussed a number of things including their fifty-plus date “Slow Dream” tour, their latest album “Where the Light Goes,” and how their career was almost over before it ever really got started.

Matchbox Twenty’s new single is “Wild Dogs (Running In A Slow Dream),” and the album marks their first new music release in over a decade. The song is on their fifth studio album, Where The Light Goes from Atlantic Records. The album is produced by Gregg Wattenberg with Paul Doucette and Kyle Cook.
Rob Thomas has released five solo albums and received three Grammy Awards, eleven BMI Awards, the first-ever Songwriters Hall of Fame Hal David Starlight Award, two Billboard “Songwriter of the Year” honors, and many other accolades. Paul Doucette has scored and contributed original music to film and television series such as Utopia, For All Mankind, and more.
