I’ve never attended this festival but always wondered what it would be like. Maybe this is the year I should because two of my favorite people will be there.
It doesn’t get much bigger than Paul McCartney himself! He and the legendary John Mellencamp have been added to the already stellar lineup at the Tribeca Film Festival 2023. The festival runs from Wednesday, June 7 to Sunday, June 18 in New York City. Both Paul and John will take part in the festival’s Storytellers Series as part of the Talks and Reunions lineup.
McCartney will sit down for an in-depth conversation with Conan O’Brien for a recording of Conan’s podcast, Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend. Paul and Conan’s chat will take place on Thursday, June 15 at 6 p.m. at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) Tribeca Performing Arts Center. The two of them will discuss McCartney’s new photo book which is called 1964: Eyes of the Storm, and is set to be released two days earlier on Tuesday, June 13.
John Mellencamp is also scheduled to have an in-depth and candid talk. He’ll be chatting with another famous talk show host, David Letterman. Their talk has been scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 8 at 6 p.m. at the same location.
Other talks include Jane Fonda, Billy Porter, Katie Holmes, and Chance the Rapper.
The Tribeca Film Festival is an annual film festival held in New York City. It was founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, producer Jane Rosenthal, and businessman Craig Hatkoff, in Manhattan. The festival showcases a diverse selection of independent films, documentaries, and shorts from around the world, as well as hosting panel discussions, workshops, and live performances.
Over the years, it has become one of the most prominent film festivals in the United States, attracting both established and up-and-coming filmmakers and actors, as well as huge audiences.

James Corden's 10 Best Carpool Karaoke Segments
With the Late Late Show ending this week, so will all its fun segments. Carpool Karaoke has become a fan-favorite since it began eight years ago, featuring a multitude of guests. On the final segment featuring a longtime friend of host James Corden, Adele asked him to dish on his favorite past moments and hardships.
Corden admitted that it was really hard to book celebrities to take part in the series. “No one would do it,” he said. “Everyone on planet Earth said ‘no.'” And when he finally got Mariah Carey on board, she only agreed to be on the segment — not to sing. This was a crucial part of the series, of course, so Corden did the best he could do: try to bait her into singing. As 1995’s “Always Be My Baby” begins playing in the car, Mariah immediately knew what he was up to.
Playing coy, Corden said with a huge grin, “It’s a new car, so I don’t know how to change the radio station.” The diva hummed along nonchalantly at first, even telling the television host that she wasn’t going to sing. “I’m not singing today, I was up all night,” she said at the time. Then all of a sudden, Carey began to sing along to the song. Sixty episodes later, the Carpool Karaoke series became a success. As Adele described in the final segment, “there’s been some bloody brilliant ones and a few s— ones, obviously.”
After Mariah, Corden had Justin Bieber (four times), Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Sia, Selena Gomez, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Britney Spears, and so many more.

Joel Katz is the Morning Show Personality, Assistant Program Director, Podcast Host, Voiceover artist, audio producer, and Digital Content Writer for Magic 98.3. Joel has been working in New Jersey radio since college and started at Magic in 2002 as the Morning Show Host, “I can’t think of another place where I’d fit more perfectly; it’s just a great company with awesome people.” Joel is married to Kathleen, his elementary school sweetheart (they were each other’s first dates at age 9), shares a birthday with his oldest son, Ty, and has twins, Kiera and Liam. Joel runs at least 3.1 miles every day and enjoys playing basketball, doing laundry, saving his turn signal for when he really needs it, kissing dogs through a fence, using coasters, making that cool noise by rubbing his fingers on balloons, and chasing after ping pong balls on a windy cruise ship.
