Worlds 2022 Play In’s Recap
Worlds 2022 Play in’s has been kicking off over the past week with some pretty intense moments, however now we are entering the second stage which will see some teams eliminated before they even get to the main event so let’s recap where we stand.
Currently, 14 of the 16 teams have been chosen for Worlds. With the remaining two spots up for grabs through a round called Play In’s, well we have moved on from Stage one to Play In Knockout’s it is here where the final four will be decided and what groups they are in as far as Worlds is concerned. Let’s recap where the only North American Team is and how they did in stage one.

Evil Geniuses had a pretty decent taking second place in their group winning a W/L of 5-2 how they were not able to take the top spot from Fanatic who is now qualified for Worlds alongside DRX who went undefeated in their group. However, EG did take away a spot in their final skipping the semifinal so all EG has to do is beat one team and they are in for worlds, but the match may be tough depending on which team they have to face.

While over in Group two of this Knockout round Royal Never Give Up should be able to come out with a victory no matter the challenger, though that’s the thing will we see a complete shift in gameplay during the actual matches. If EG loses that means only two teams will be representing North America on one of the largest Esport stages in the world.
Overall, I am hyped for this week as we look forward to the start of League of Legends World Championship 2022 which will kick off their first game this Friday, October 7th, at 5 PM with C9 one of the other North American teams vs one of the unknown spots. From that weekend we move on to Knockouts and the final stage who will win and be crowned World Champions?
