While that’s not really an official headline per say, researchers in Japan believe an ingredient used in McDonald’s french fries may indeed stimulate hair follicle germs, thus potentially leading to hair regrowth.
The study, which was recently published in the journal Biomaterials and published on WISN12, found that dimethylpolysiloxane, a cooking oil McDonald’s uses in their french fries, succeeded in regrowing hair in mice.
So, if you are bald, can you just eat a bunch of french fries from McDonald’s and expect to wake up with a full head of hair? Well, not quite.
Up until now, researchers in the past have struggled to produce mass amounts of hair follicle germs, however the new study used oxygen-permeable dimethylpolysiloxane through a HFG chip on a mouse.
While this method has not yet been conducted on humans, it’s a promising study that could quite possibly lead to curing baldness in the near future.
