Rihanna Names An Artist She’d Like To Collaborate With
There’s a long list of major artists who Rihanna has collaborated with over the years: Jay-Z, Sean Paul, Maroon 5, Jeezy, Slash from Guns N Roses, will.i.am, Drake, Eminem, Coldplay, Calvin Harris, SZA, Kendrick Lamar, T.I. and Shakira, to name a few. Now, according to Billboard, she says she’d like to add Billie Eilish to that list.
Billboard reports that at a recent launch event for her new Fenty X Puma collection, she was interviewed by an 11-year old journalist who asked who her dream collaborator would be. “If I could only do a song with Billie Eilish,” she said. “She’s so good.”
You can watch the interview below. She mentions in the interview that she loves Puma because of her love for soccer. She mentions soccer legend Pele in the interview, and the interviewer Laila admits to not knowing who that is. She asked advice at being a boss. Rihanna said, “Be a boss: it’s within you! You can fulfill the things that you’re there to do. Always anticipate the next step and never underestimate yourself.”
“That’s great advice!” the interviewer says. Riri hi-fives her and says, “Don’t forget it.”
Fans are eagerly awaiting a new Rihahna album: her last one was Anti, which was released in 2016, when the aforementioned journalist would have been three years old. Billie Eilish, who was born in 2001, would have been 15 at the time. Eilish doesn’t collaborate as much as some pop artists do, but she has done tracks or remixes with a few big names, including Vince Staples, Sofi Tucker, Khalid, Bryson Tiller, DJ Khaled, Rosalia and Charli XCX.
Of course, Rihanna has also recently said that she is a fan of GloRilla, even mentioning that she would love to have her sing a Savage X Fenty theme song (if there was one).
Back in July, GloRilla shared a screenshot of a DM from Rihanna. Glo, 24, shared an Instagram carousel of images from her BET after party, soundtracked by “TGIF.” The final image was a DM from Rihanna, who said, “You got all summer sis! I know dis wild hypocritical, but when the album drop?”
As we previously reported, Rihanna has provided multiple updates on the progress behind her upcoming ninth studio album. In April, she said: “If I’m not feeling it and I’m not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away …There should be a show of growth, right?” Last month, Rihanna told ET she was “starting over,” giving the songs she had already been working on another look from a “new perspective.”
