Ariana Grande Hilariously Shuts Down Plastic Surgery Rumors
Ariana Grande is finally putting plastic surgery rumors to rest. In Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test series, the singer and actress addressed the speculation about her appearance head-on.
At one point, her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo asked her if she’d had a BBL (Brazilian butt lift). Grande’s response? “Get the f— out of here,” before jokingly adding, “Yes.” When Erivo asked if she’d ever consider getting one, she replied, “No. That wouldn’t work for me. I don’t think that’s my thing. And I’m OK with that, you know?”
Earlier in the interview, Erivo ran through a list of procedures, including a nose job, breast augmentation, and facelift, all of which Grande denied. As for the facelift, she said, “Not yet. I’m open.”
After the lie detector confirmed her truthfulness, Grande couldn’t help but celebrate. “This is the best day of my life. Take that, you YouTube people.”
One procedure Grande is often speculated to have had is a fox eye lift. “No,” she said, “but I discovered it through people who thought I did, and I said, ‘Thank you.’” And if you’re wondering what a fox eye lift is, according to the Advanced Center for Plastic Surgery, “a board certified surgeon lifts the outer corner of the eye and positions it higher, making a slight angle that resembles a fox’s eye and creates an elegant arch.”
Grande also denied getting a chin implant, stating the only cosmetic work she’s had includes “fillers in various places and Botox, but I stopped like four years ago.” She added, “But also, like, in full support of all people who do these things.”
In a September 2023 episode of Vogue’s Beauty Secrets, Grande opened up about quitting injectables. “Full transparency as a beauty person, as I do my lips,” the R.E.M. Beauty founder said while applying color. “[I’ve] had a ton of lip filler over the years and Botox. I stopped in 2018 because I just felt so — too much. I just felt like [I was] hiding, you know?”
She got emotional, admitting that beauty, for her, was “about hiding for me.”
“I, over the years, used makeup as a disguise or as something to hide behind,” she admitted. “More hair, more and more, [the] thicker the eyeliner… and that can be so beautiful at times and I still do have love for it.”
Grande also expressed support for those who choose to have plastic surgery but revealed her own change in mindset. “I want to see my well-earned cry lines and smile lines,” she said. “I hope my smile lines get deeper and deeper, and I laugh more and more. I think aging can be such a beautiful thing.”
