Black Eyed Peas Bringing AI Member To Vegas Residency
The Black Eyed Peas are getting a Las Vegas residency in 2025! They’ll reportedly be bringing their “3008 The Las Vegas Residency” to the PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino!
The band might look a bit different than they did during their peak in popularity in the late-aughts. The lineup now features will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and J. Rey Soul–who replaced Fergie when she left the group back in 2018.
Black Eyed Peas Getting Las Vegas Residency
The Black Eyed Peas are known for hit songs like “Where Is The Love?,” “My Humps,” “I Gotta Feeling,” and “Boom Boom Pow” just to name a few. They went through a period where everything they touched turned to gold–they were everywhere! Now, they’ll be putting things in park in Las Vegas for several months in 2025.
It sounds like they’re going to try to push the boundaries of what a live show experience is. In other words, this thing is going to be built for Vegas–the entertainment capital of the world. will.i.am says, “We draw inspiration from Disney rides, Las Vegas shows, concerts, AI, and technology. We will reinvent how we perform, creating an interactive show, a journey to 3008 that is both a concert and play. I can’t wait for the world to see what we cook up in Vegas,” via 8 News Now. Those are some incredibly bold claims! He’s really hyping up the experience, which is good–but he’s setting the group up for some high expectations that might be hard to reach! They aren’t as popular as they once were and trying to reinvent performing and a live show experience can be quite risky! Sometimes, people don’t want something new or innovative, they just want the hit songs they listened to when they were younger for that sense of nostalgia.
However, it sounds like they aren’t playing around. According to 8 News Now, the residency will feature an AI member of the group named Vida. Is this going to be like the hologram Michael Jackson? It’s definitely something new, but again could pose a risk and create something else that could go wrong.
Tickets for the residency go on sale Saturday at 10am Eastern on Ticketmaster. The show is expected to start in early 2025 and run through May. Does it sound like something that would interest you? I just worry that they’re trying to hard to be new and innovative and it might take away from the experience. However, it could make it the best thing ever if they execute it correctly!
