Kelly Clarkson and Meghan Trainor Sing Killer ‘All About That Bass’ Duet
Kelly Clarkson and Meghan Trainor prove that they’re “All About That Bass” — no treble — in a striking duet celebrating Trainor’s 10th anniversary of her hit song.
During the Kellyoke segment on Clarkson’s talk show on Monday (April 29), the two singers teamed up to perform a beautiful harmony of Trainor’s 2014 track. As Trainor, 30, and Clarkson, 42, sang the song’s original body-positive lyrics, the two went back and forth, taking turns showcasing their vocal chops.

During her Monday appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Trainor opened up to the host about how in the last decade since “All About That Bass,” the song has become an anthem for her “Megatronz.” The mother of two now considers it her “superpower.” Trainor shares sons Riley, 3, and 9-month-old Barry with husband Daryl Sabara. She also talked about her first tour in seven years and how traveling with her young children would be a challenge.
With two children of her own, Clarkson offered the Grammy-winning artist some words of advice. “You feel like you have to wake up with them… don’t do that!” Clarkson counseled. “’Cause your voice will hate you.”
Trainor recently announced that her sixth studio album, Timeless, is set to release on June 14th. Ahead of the release, she dropped the single “Been Like This,” featuring T-Pain. T-Pain revealed he spent quite a bit of time trying to make a collaboration with Trainor come to fruition. The 39-year-old singer and rapper said he’s worked with Meghan’s husband and manager “for MONTHS trying to surprise her for her birthday” (she turned 30 in December). “She’s been a fan of mine for a long time, and the feeling is definitely mutual.”
While on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Trainor gushed about T-Pain, saying she feels like she’s been working her entire career “Just to work with T-Pain.”
Her accompanying tour is slated to kick off in Cincinnati, Ohio in September, finishing off in Inglewood, California on October 19th. Natasha Bedingfield is set to be her opener for her tour in select cities. Paul Russell, Chris Olsen, and Ryan Trainor (her younger brother) are also joining Trainor on her tour. Kicking off on September 4 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the tour is a month and a half long, concluding in Inglewood, California, on October 19th.
