Ariana Grande Confirms Her Seventh Album is Coming in 2024
Ariana Grande is officially releasing a new album for the first time in four years. The Wicked star hasn’t released any new songs since taking on the role of Glinda. Right before 2023 wraps up, the 30-year-old powerhouse singer confirmed on social media that her seventh album is coming in 2024. On Wednesday (Dec 27), Grande shared a carousel of photos and videos on Instagram, giving “Arianators” a peek at her recent time in the studio. In one selfie of tears streaming down her face, the “God is a Woman” singer gives a big thumbs up with an audio mix screen and soundboard behind her. Another photo shows her triumphantly raising her arm while FaceTiming a friend. Sharing both photos separately on her Instagram Story, Grande wrote: “The two moods of the album.”
Closing out the announcement, Grande shared a black-and-white clip in which she is in hysterics, wrapped up in a blanket on a couch. Asked to comment on the album almost being wrapped up, Grande is seen wiping away tears and responds, “I’m so tired. But I’m so happy and grateful. I also feel like I weigh 3,000 tons” because “moving is impossible.” Grande captioned the post: “see you next year.” She also liked a comment confirming her new album will have fans “crying and shaking a–.”
The Grammy winner’s last album was 2020’s Positions, which featured tracks like “34+35,” “pov,” and “positions.” She has been featured on songs for Demi Lovato and The Weekend in 2021. She collaborated with The Weeknd again in 2023 for a remix of his song, “Die For You.” Kelly Clarkson and Grande collaborated on an original holiday song in 2022 called “Santa, Can’t You Hear Me.” In celebration of the tenth anniversary of her debut album Yours Truly, Grande released a re-recording in August.
