Post Malone Covers Brad Paisley’s Hit, Receives Praise From Paisley
From rap to country, Post Malone is earning praise from Brad Paisley after the rapper covered one of Paisley’s early hits.
The “Better Now” rapper posted a video clip to TikTok featuring a performance of Paisley’s 2002 hit “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song).” The clip is from last year’s fundraiser We’re Texas, an event organized by Matthew McConaughey to support the state of Texas following a devastating winter storm in February 2021.

Paisley commented high praise on Posty’s cover saying, “This is better than me.” Paisley took it one step further and even changed out the bio on his TikTok page to read: “I write songs for Post Malone.”
Malone quickly responded to Paisley’s approval in a follow-up video, “Brad, there’s no shot, man. I love you so f—in’ much man, thank you for the love, dude. I owe you a beer, man. Text me, I’ll see you soon.”

Per Billboard, Malone said earlier this year that he intends to record a country album. “To be honest, there’s nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album [and releasing it] on YouTube,” Malone said. “I’m allowed to do that, I’m a human being.”
The rapper added, “I split my time between a lot of different things because I am happily obligated to do concerts and show love to my fans, and then I’m happily obligated to write music and make beats by myself and I’m happily obligated take care of my family. So, it’s a lot of time, and it’s about finding that space to allot that time. If I get another year to myself, maybe I’ll make a f—ing country album.”
