New York Giants Announce Joe Schoen As New General Manager
The New York Giants have a new General Manager as of today (January 21). Big Blue announced the hiring of the now former Buffalo Bills’ assistant general manager, Joe Schoen.
Schoen was one of nine candidates interviewed during the month of January after the firing of Dave Gettleman. The 42-year-old has become the fifth GM for the New York Giants since 1979.
“We are pleased and proud to name Joe as our general manager,” said Giants president John Mara in a press release. “Throughout our search, Joe impressed us with his ability to communicate a progressive and comprehensive vision for our team. His philosophy and collaborative approach to building a roster and coaching staff align with what we were looking for in a general manager.”
According to the press release, Schoen visited the Giants’ headquarters and toured the facility in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Tuesday.
