Supreme Court Rules Against NCAA: Best Twitter Reactions
The Supreme Court, in a 9-0 ruling, handed a major defeat to the NCAA making way for student-athletes to receive compensation outside of education benefits.
Per The Associated Press (AP), “The case doesn’t decide whether students can be paid salaries. Instead, the ruling will help determine whether schools decide to offer athletes tens of thousands of dollars in those benefits for things including tutoring, study abroad and internships.”
AP added, “Under current NCAA rules, students cannot be paid, and the scholarship money colleges can offer is capped at the cost of attending the school. The NCAA had defended its rules as necessary to preserve the amateur nature of college sports.”
The NCAA’s rules have long been a hot debate topic in the sports world, with many finding the rules unfair to student-athletes. Following the ruling, the NCAA became the number one trending topic on Twitter. Here are some notable (and often funny) reactions.
the only nonpartisan belief in America is hating the NCAA

The highest court n the land has ruled, again, that the NCAA is a serial antitrust violator. And, remember, it was the NCAA that petitioned SCOTUS for review. The NCAA is in desperate need of new, competent leadership. https://t.co/lYsV5C956Q

The NCAA as we all know it died this morning, and that's a good thing.
I'd like to see court packing so the NCAA can lose 18-0 the next time.

In a largely polarized and divisive time, no issue has become more bipartisan than dunking on the NCAA.
This quote from Justice Kavanaugh cuts deep: "Nowhere else in America can businesses get away with agreeing to not pay their workers a fair market rate on their theory that their product is defined by not paying their workers a fair market rate. The

Unanimous and bipartisan destruction of the NCAA warms my heart in so many ways.

9-0 that SCOTUS *really* hates the NCAA. Brett Kavanaugh just slammed the door on amateurism.
This was fun. Let's expand the playoff next. pic.twitter.com/a34iZOYih7
