Cadbury Creme Egg Beer Now Exists
The Cadbury Creme Egg, one of the most popular Easter candies, is now available in beer form.
The U.K. candy maker partnered with Goose Island UK to create the “Limited Eggdition” (get it!) cream stout called “It’s the Golden Goo-Beer-Lee.” The new beer is being released in honor of the 50th anniversary of the initial launch of the Cadbury Creme Egg.
Food & Wine notes, “The 4.5-percent ABV stout—which, for the record, does not contain any actual Creme Eggs—was created by Goose Island UK’s Head Brewer Andrew Walton who tossed cacao nibs and vanilla beans into a recipe that also included malted barley, oats, wheat, and lactose in an attempt to match the flavor and texture of the classic Easter egg.”

In a statement, Cadbury Creme Egg brand manager Raphael Capitani said, “We have always celebrated the unique and wonderful ways of enjoying a Cadbury Creme Egg and with this launch we are taking EATertainment to a whole new level. We can’t wait for people to try our very first beer and raise a glass to five delicious decades of Cadbury Creme Egg!”
The Cadbury Creme Egg beer is being released in an extremely limited supply. The first batch of cans sold out almost immediately. However, Goose Island UK has one more batch release planned for Monday, March 8 at 11 AM GMT, which is 6 AM EST. The beer comes in a 2-pack, and customers are limited to one pack per purchase. Only 500 packs will be available on March 8.
