Whitney Houston Will Be Inducted In The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
The 2020 Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Nominees have been announced, and Whitney Houston will be inducted in the 2020 class. According to a press release, to determine inductees, “Ballots were sent to an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, including current living Inductees, historians and members of the music industry. Factors such as an artist’s musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique are taken into consideration.” This year was Houston’s first time on the ballot, even though she has been eligible for years.
Also inducted for 2020 are The Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, Notorious B.I.G., Depeche Mode, and T. Rex.
The Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on May 2 at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio. Tickets go on sale to the public on February 27 at 10 a.m. ET. The event will also air on HBO on May 2 at 8 p.m. ET.
