Post Malone Explains How He Fell & Bruised Three Ribs On Stage
Post Malone suffered a severe injury while performing in St. Louis as part of his Twelve Carat Toothache Tour. The rapper fell on the stage and laid in apparently excruciating pain while medics on-site rushed to the stage to assist him. He emerged 15 minutes later explaining that he had injured three of his ribs.

In an Instagram video posted by Malone’s manager Dre London, the rapper addressed fans following his hospital visit. He begins the video graciously thanking St. Louis fans before explaining what caused the fall: “Whenever we do the acoustic part of the show, the guitars are on the guitar stand… and there’s this big hole, so I go around there and I turn the corner and bust my a–,” he said. “[It] winded me pretty good. Got me pretty good. We just got back from the hospital and everything’s good. Everything’s good. They gave me some pain meds and everything so we can keep kicking ass on the tour.”
He added: “Next time I’m around this way, we’re gonna do a two hour show for you so we can make up for the couple missed songs that we missed.” Another Instagram post that showed Dre London putting his arm around Posty.
“Post Malone didn’t break 3 ribs last nite thank god. We did X-rays @ hospital after the show & they declared he had bruised his ribs!” he captioned the photo. Adding that, “In true Posty fashion loving his fans he finished the show! I truly don’t know any artist like him.”
The New York native dropped Twelve Carat Toothache back in June, which features appearances from Fleet Foxes (“Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol”), The Weeknd (“One Right Now”), Doja Cat (“I Like You”), Roddy Ricch (“Cooped Up”), The Kid Laroi (“Wasting Angels”), and Gunna (“I Cannot Be”).
Malone told Billboard that the songs on his album, “speak more to how [he’s] feeling at the moment: the ups and downs and the disarray and the bipolar aspect of being an artist in the mainstream.”
Twelve Carat Toothache follows Posty’s 2019 album Hollywood’s Bleeding.
The Twelve Carat Toothache Tour continues in Toronto tomorrow (Sept. 20).
