Mike Tyson Filmed Punching A Man On A Flight
A video of an incident on a plane on Wednesday (April 20) showed Mike Tyson repeatedly punching a fellow passenger after he wouldn’t leave the former pro boxer alone.
Per Complex, a witness said the passenger was overly excited upon discovering he was sitting behind Tyson on the Florida-bound flight. After securing a selfie with him, the passenger continued to try to talk to Tyson and apparently annoyed him enough to be told to relax. In the video, the passenger was seen standing up and getting in Tyson’s space while his friend was filming.
“Social media made y’all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it,” reads a quote that has been widely attributed to Tyson and posted on his now-removed Facebook page.
Tyson, 55, allegedly then turned around to punch the man in the face multiple times, as seen in the below footage obtained by gossip website TMZ. Shortly after assaulting the man, Tyson walked off the plane. The victim, who could be seen with a bloodied face, received medical attention and has since contacted the police, although there’s no word on whether an investigation has been launched.
The video comes less than a month after Tyson was filmed keeping his cool when a man challenged him to a fight and pulled out a loaded gun. That clip was taken at a Los Angeles comedy show and shows Tyson sitting still while the man appeared to get more and more riled up, which prompted the host of the event to tell the man to back off. That’s when a gun was drawn and cocked, sending attendees into a brief panic while Tyson calmly sat there as the man put the gun away.
NOTE: An earlier version of the story identified the person who Tyson punched as “a kid”; we’ve since learned that he was in his 30s. We regret the error.
