Kristin Cavallari And Jay Cutler Announce Divorce
After ten years of marriage, Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler are calling it quits.
The reality show star made the announcement official on her social media, writing, “With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family.”
Jay wrote the same message on his Instagram page with a throwback photo of the pair together.
Although there are no details about what lead to the divorce, there were signs of strain during the last season of their reality show Very Cavallari. The cameras were there as the friendship between Kristen and her best friend Kelly Henderson dissolved. One problem the pair had was how Kelly handled rumors that she and Jay were having an affair.
There were also moments on the show that showed Jay and Kristen bickering. During one episode, Kristen told cameras, “From the outside, like, things are so perfect and things are so great. But actually, like, they’re not. And that sucks. It sucks. That’s the thing, though, with marriage — it’s ups and downs. And that’s how we’ve always been, our whole relationship. It is what it is.”
She later said, “There’s no such thing as a perfect relationship. Jay and I have problems — I’ve always been very vocal about that. We have to work at our relationship. … We definitely have issues.”
