This ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Is Leaving The Show & Twitter Is Heartbroken
Grab the tissues, stat. Justin Chambers is leaving Grey’s Anatomy after 15 years of playing Alex Karev. Worse, fans might have already seen the actor’s final episode.
“There’s no good time to say goodbye to a show and character that’s defined so much of my life for the past 15 years,” Chambers said in a statement to Deadline. “For some time now, however, I have hoped to diversify my acting roles and career choices. And, as I turn 50 and am blessed with my remarkable, supportive wife and five wonderful children, now is that time.”
Chambers, who was an original Grey’s cast member, was last seen on the Nov. 14 episode in which Alex stepped in to help Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). Deadline reported that will possibly be his last appearance on the show for the near future.
This left many fans on Twitter heartbroken, sharing crying gifs to work through all their feels. Others were just shocked to learn that Chambers is turning the big 5-0.
