The Rock Lights Up Comic-Con During ‘Black Adam’/’Shazam’ Panel
While the DC cinematic universe has not gotten the respect that Marvel’s has, they are clearly looking to turn things around. DC’s panel at the San Diego Comic-Con today focused on two films: Black Adam and Shazam: Fury of the Gods.
Dwayne Johnson showed up to the panel in his Black Adam costume, according to The Hollywood Reporter, who wrote that he appeared to “ear-splitting thunder, smoke, and flashes” and that he appeared to float into the air above the stage.
The fans then saw a quick preview of the film, which hits theaters on October 21.
DC also shared the first footage of Shazam: Fury Of the Gods, which hits U.S. theaters on December 21. No word on if the films, which are being released within weeks of each other are linked, but in the comic books, Shazam (referred to as Captain Marvel in the comics, not to be confused with Marvel’s Captain Marvel) and Black Adam get their powers from the same source. They both wear costumes with a similar lightning bolt logo.
