MGK Calls ‘Midnight In The Switchgrass’ ‘Trash’: Emile Hirsch Responds
In the latest Midnight In The Switchgrass drama, Machine Gun Kelly’s comment about not promoting the movie due to it being “trash” has garnered a response from fellow co-star Emile Hirsch.
Colson Baker, AKA MGK tweeted on Friday (July 23), “if i don’t talk or tweet about a movie i’m barely in it’s because it’s 🚮” in reference to his latest role where he met his current girlfriend Megan Fox.

Fox ended up skipping the film’s premiere that same Friday her beau bashed the movie, citing California’s new mask mandate and rising COVID-19 cases.
Lala Kent (whose fiancé Randall Emmett directed the movie) posted a photo from the premiere in which she covers Megan Fox’s entire body standing in front of the movie poster. She said it wasn’t a dig on Fox, however; Lala told Access Hollywood, “I am not very subtle when I shade people. If I was upset, I would have just straight up said it… My mom quickly took a picture of me, I was just standing next to the poster. She said, ‘Pose. I want to get a picture.’ I quickly said I am excited for the movie and posted it and then went in to watch the film.”
Megan said, “I really like Lala, so I can’t imagine she would be trying to do anything negative like that. She’s a lovely person.”
Hirsch posted a screenshot of MGK’s tweet, writing, “We definitely disagree here, Colson! Nothing but respect to you guys though- especially because you and Megan are so f#*king great in this movie.”
Director Randall Emmett commented, “Agree, thank you,” while other castmates Lukas Haas and Caitlin Carmichael echoed his statement in the comments
Machine Gun Kelly has yet to respond to backlash over his tweet.
