MotorTrend Truck of the Year Announced

Just last week I spoke we learned that the 2025 MotorTrend Car of the Year is the Mercedes Benz E Class. Last month it was announced that the MotorTrend SUV of the year winner is the Lincoln Nautilus.

Every year, MotorTrend selects one new 2025 car, truck, and SUV to receive the prestigious title of the absolute best in each of the categories.

MotorTrend, the well-respected and the world-renowned automotive authority reveals all three winners during the holiday season.

Once again, I invited MotorTrend’s Vice President of Content and Head of Editorial, Ed Loh back to the show to get the scoop on their truck of the year.

Ed revealed that the MotorTrend 2025 Truck of the year is the Dodge Ram 1500. It's a prior winner, and it's won a few times in the past.

Ed said, "Specifically what we liked about the Ram is they styling. It's a really good-looking truck I think everyone will agree. It's a gorgeous truck inside and out, but the big news is that Ram got rid of the Hemi V8 last year, there was a lot of consternation over that, but what they replaced that engine with, is called a 'Hurricane Straight 6 Turbo' family of engines and they're great. Very powerful, they're actually lighter than the V8 they replaced, and they have this tremendous fuel economy. It's got lots of tork, lots of power, and a lot of technology inside it as well."

They say it's the most wonderful time of the year and I'm inclined to agree. I love the holidays. The lights, the songs, the general good vibes, what's not to love? Plus, it's THE time for baking. People love to pull out all the stops around the holidays. Plus, we all know that Santa is coming to town and he runs on cookies. So even the least kitchen-savvy amongst us are more likely to give baking a shot.

If you would consider yourself a novice when it comes to baking, have no fear. The beauty of cookies, at least in my opinion, is that they're relatively easy to do and they don't take a HUGE amount of time. You can always make Mr. Claus some classic chocolate chip, I don't think you'll hear him complaining. Or, if you want to try something else, you're in luck. Down below is a list of seven different Christmas cookie recipes sure to please Santa as well as your family and friends.

A Christmas take on everything but the kitchen sink cookies. Delicious!

Pumpkin is still totally valid at Christmas, as far as I'm concerned. And these cookies use brown butter for a warm and nutty flavor, perfect for the cold weather.

Is there anything better than a perfectly baked snickerdoodle? I don't think so.

While not technically cookies, these blondies look like they have almost a cookie like texture, so I think it's fine. Plus, what's more Chistmas-y than gingerbread?

It's the time of year for hot chocolate. Why not have it in cookie version as well?

I love getting those Pillsbury cookie dough trays at Halloween and Christmas from the grocery store. But if you're like me and like to be a little extra, you should make them from scratch. I know that's what I'm going to do next time.

These sandwich sugar cookies would be so fun to decorate with your kids or grandkids! And if you're not feeling a chocolate filling, you could always do something like a thick caramel.
