Gabrielle Union Shares Message Regarding Her Family: ‘We Keep Moving Forward’
On Sunday (Mar. 8) Gabrielle Union took to Instagram to share a message regarding her family.
“We keep moving forward. We keep leading with love, light, and hope for a better more inclusive world,” the actress and author wrote as the caption of a video of herself walking forward alongside her step-daughter, Zaya Wade and her husband, Dwyane Wade.
“Stay put and stay mad if you want. We keep it pushing. Always.” The Wade family has recently been making headlines regarding their support of Dwyane Wade’s daughter, Zaya, who came out this year regarding her gender identity.
As we previously reported, Zaya and her parents made an announcement that she wanted to be referred to using the pronouns “she” and “her.” Several fans of Wade and Union as well as some celebrities, including Lil Boosie, have criticized the two celebrities for supporting Zaya.
The Wade family has also received a lot of love and support for supporting their daughter as well as being allies to the LGBTQ+ community.
When Union took to Instagram to share her message regarding her family, the Wades had previously attended the Better Brothers Los Angeles’ 6th annual Truth Awards at Taglyan Complex on March 07, 2020, in Los Angeles, California.

Union also took to social media to express her gratitude for Zaya being able to attend the Truth Awards. “Big night at the #TruthAwards2020 to celebrate our friends @jasonbolden @adair_curtis receiving the Business Leadership Award. We are incredibly proud of them and grateful for their presence, love & light in ourselves,” Union wrote.
“@richfresh kept us FRESHHHHH in custom suits and @lorraineschwartz laced us with gorgeous jewels for the special occasion. It was an EPIC night filled with so much love & a real sense of community. It was important for Zaya to be a part of such a beautiful night & reminding her of all the love & support she has. We were moved to tears so many times throughout the night. So much gratitude.”
