Sunflower season is in full swing right here in the Garden State so in honor of it we picked out five of our favorite farms that give you the full sunflower experience as well as some other fun activities that may get you away from the phone. You may even add these spots to your list of TANKful trips as you cruise down the shore.

  • 1. Happy Day Farm Manalapan, NJ

    If you want to see plenty of healthy and beautiful sunflowers, Happy Day Farm does it best. Located in Manalapan, NJ has it’s doors open to visitors from July 3rd to August 14th to sit back and enjoy a nice cup of freshly squeezed lemonade as you also take in the nice yellow view. Guests are encouraged to bring cutting shears and a water bucket when picking their collection of sunflowers. The farm is open Wednesday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the last entry admitted at 2:30 p.m. Admission, which includes both the sunflower and zinnia field, is $17 with children under the age of one being admitted for free.   • 2. Holland Ridge Farm, Cream Ridge, NJ

    Holland Ridge Farm in Cream Ridge offers a pick your own sunflower experience like none other. With over a hundred years of experience under their belt their ties within the local community is strong as they welcome first-time and returning visitors like family. Mark your Calendars for September 23rd when their Fall Flower Festival blooms. General Admission is $13 with tickets being sold for specific time slots. Though if you want to check it out before all the fun starts Holland Ridge Farm is open Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. With cut off into the fields being any time after 5 p.m. So, soak up the sun with this New Jersey farm by Clicking Here for more information. 

  • 3. Alan’s Flower Farm, Chesterfield, NJ

    At Alan’s Flower Farm they put the F in Flower with multiple types of flowers to choose from there’s no way you or your family would want to skip out on this location.   • 4. Dalton Farms, Swedesboro, NJ

    If you want to enjoy a nice warm picnic with a picturesque view, well this is your place. Located on 99 acres, Dalton Farms is a long-standing family farm known for having a vast variety of beautiful sunflowers. You still have time before the official sunflower harvest begins in mid-August. So, if interested head on over to their location in Swedesboro, NJ, and while you’re at it you can say hi to our neighbors as the Delaware Memorial Bridge is only a short drive from Dalton farms.   • Alstede Farm, Chester, NJ

    Alstede Farm is a recurring name in our lists and for good reason as it is a hot spot for family fun activities no matter what time of year you go. This time around with sunflower picking in the late summer months Alstede really can say they have it all.  However, sunflower picking isn’t all Alstede has to offer as they have other pick your own events as well as a plethora of other live events ranging from music, food trucks and fine wine on a fine midsummer afternoon, what more could you hope for? Though In order to participate in the pick-your-own program, you must purchase a ticket at the door children ages one and under have free entry.
