Get ready for a festive day filled with games, prizes, basket raffles, a window-decorating contest, music, and food! But make sure to get there early because there will even be a breakfast with Santa to kick off the event!
Christmas is coming early this year! South Plainfield is gearing up for their annual Christmas in July celebration. On Saturday July 29th from 10pm – 4pm, the Tri County Chamber of Commerce along with South Plainfield Business Association (SPBA) and the South Plainfield Cultural Arts Commission (SPCAC) will turn the streets of downtown South Plainfield into a Christmas wonderland complete with Christmas themed storefront windows, nostalgic holiday decor and dear old Santa Claus!
The day will begin at 9am with Breakfast with Santa at the Bagel Pantry. After breakfast, the South Plainfield marching band will lead Santa by parade over to downtown South Plainfield. The intersection of South Plainfield Avenue and Hamilton Blvd will be closed all day to make room for the festivities. There will be contests, raffles, a dunk tank, balloon animals, bouncy house, tons of vendors and entertainment, which will include performances by singer Cory Singer, Ashley Mangandi, Srihari Yamunan, Nora Stasio, the South Plainfield Marching Band and the South Plainfield Drama Workshop.
There will be plenty of vendors to start your Christmas shopping early. Vendors include Jamberry Nail Wraps, Origami Owls, Scentsy, handmade jewelry, makeup eraser, 31 Gifts, South Hill Jewelry, Happy Heifer Hairbows, Tastefully Simple, Touchstone Jewelry, decorative wreaths, vintage glass, Wildtree Herbs, Mary Kay Cosmetics plus much more. We will also have some local businesses promoting their services which will include nuSalon located next to the Bagel Pantry, Investors Bank, Jack Pedersen Realty, Animal House, Dancing Iris Gallery, Salon Professional Academy, Scarlett Marketing Group and TAP into South Plainfield. Some local organizations will include the Band Boosters, South Plainfield Education Foundation, South Plainfield Business Association, Amateur Radio Club, the Friends of the Library, South Plainfield Rescue Squad, and First Baptist Church will offer crafts for the children and also have a Photo Booth and the Girl Scouts will be offering sand art. Also, some of the local businesses in the downtown area will be selling their wares.
