Musical Comedy Brings Charlie Brown and the Peanuts Characters to Life Under the Stars in Washington Park (Gazebo Stage), Dunellen, NJ
Dunellen Skylight Theater Productions will present the family-friendly musical comedy, “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” under the stars from Friday, August 19th – Sunday, August 28th. Performances are Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings at 8:00PM.
Happiness is…two kinds of ice cream, sharing a secret…or reliving the innocence of youth with Charlie Brown and the celebrated characters of the Peanuts gang. The whole gang is here: bossy Lucy is hopelessly in love with piano prodigy Schroeder who doesn’t give her the time of day, perfectionist Sally fondly fawns over blanket-toting Linus, Snoopy is in the doghouse, and “blockhead,” himself, Charlie Brown, is in rare form. The show is a series of brief vignettes showing the ups and downs of all childhood days, from wild optimism to utter despair. Whether you’re keen to fly with the Red Baron, moon over the Moonlight Sonata, or just do your best to find “Happiness,” You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a crowd-pleaser.
“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” stars Tyler Conroy as Charlie Brown, with Kajoree Bhattacharya (Lucy), Benji Sills (Schroeder), Billy Mills (Linus), Liz Colagrande (Sally Brown), and Pixxie Porter (Snoopy). The cast is rounded out with an ensemble of singers and dancers. The production is directed by Bill Seesselberg, with musical direction by Emalina Thompson.
After each performance children are invited to meet the Peanuts gang in person.
Tickets for the show are $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for children under 12/seniors and can be purchased online at www.dunellenskylighttheatre.com. Veterans are free.
