Unless otherwise specified for a particular contest, all contest participants must be at least 18 years of age or older as of contest date and a legal resident of the United States living or working within the WMGQ/WCTC terrestrial listening area. Contests or prizes that involve travel, gambling, or alcohol, may require a higher age restriction. In the event of such a contest, contestants will be notified through additional contest rules specific to that contest. Winners determined via drawing from qualified entries unless otherwise specified. WMGQ/WCTC and contest sponsors reserve the right to use photos, voice recordings and /or images/likenesses of winners/contestants for advertising and promotional purposes for an indeterminate amount of time.
All prizes won on-air at WMGQ/ WCTC will be mailed unless otherwise specified. WMGQ/WCTC are not responsible for lost, late, damaged, or misdirected mail. WMGQ/WCTC are not responsible for tickets or events that have been cancelled. Reasonable substitutions for such an event may or may not be offered and will be determined on an individual basis based on availability. Large prizes or Grand Prizes that are too large or valuable to be mailed must be picked up at the WMGQ/ WCTC offices during normal business hours-Monday thru Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM. All prizes won via on-sit contest or deemed “must be present to win” will be announced via station/event sound system and allow ample time for a winner to respond. If a winner is deemed ‘not present’, a new name will be drawn at random until a winner is deemed ‘present’ by WMGQ/ WCTC judges. Judging of contesting both on-air and on-site is the sole responsibility of WMGQ/ WCTC and its representatives including promotions assistants, air talent, management and/or other authorized representative. All decisions of WMGQ/WCTC are final. Representatives of a contestant may not redeem or claim a prize unless otherwise specified.
All contests winners will be asked to furnish valid identification in order to claim prizes. Valid identification includes a current driver’s license, passport, military identification, certified birth certificate or social security card. If identification is deemed ‘invalid’ or ‘unacceptable’ by representatives of WMGQ/WCTC, prizes will not be distributed. In such an event, the winner may be given a reasonable amount of time to produce acceptable identification in order to claim a prize. Representatives of WMGQ/WCTC may use discretion in distributing prizes and may deem further identification either necessary or unnecessary. Prize distribution in such a case will be determined on an individual basis. All winners must sign and deliver a publicity/liability release before claiming their prize. Prizes must be claimed within 30 days of conclusion of contest, or at least 2 business days before an event if the prize involves attendance at a specific event. Prizes not claimed within the stated timeframe will be forfeited without compensation.
Winners agree to release and hold harmless the promotion/contest sponsors, WMGQ/WCTC, The Sentinel Publishing Company, and each of their representative parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability and any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in conjunction with any contest or prize won. WMGQ/WCTC undertake no liability or responsibility, and make no warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to the performance of the prize(s) awarded, for any failure to perform or negligent performance of any service provider, or for any other risk, incident or damage, direct or indirect, relating to or arising out of the contest, including (but not limited to) cancellations, postponements, delays or other scheduling changes; missed events or connections or inability of winner to attend; and accident, injury, damage or expense arising from or occurring during the use of the prize, or travel to/from or attendance at any event relating to the contest, by the winner and/or winner’s guest(s). WMGQ/WCTC are not responsible for damage to a prize or loss of a prize after the prize has been claimed.
By participating in any WMGQ/WCTC contest, contestants agree to abide by these generic contest rules as well as any amendments specific to a particular contest. Failure to conform to all contest rules, or any fraud or other illegal or inappropriate conduct on the part of a contestant, will result in the contestant’s disqualification and forfeiture of any prize won.
