Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City unveiled a $50 million improvement plan in February. The work will transform over 700 guest rooms, 60 suites, and eight penthouses. Completion is expected by the end of 2026.

The North Tower serves as the main focus. New fixtures will replace old ones. Fresh fabrics, stone, and bathrooms arrive. Draperies, lighting, and televisions get swapped out too. Corridors and walkways receive updates.

"We are pretty deliberate. And we're very data-driven. We went to one of our marketing consumer behavior researchers, and we conducted a survey," said George Goldhoff, according to NJBIZ. "So, we heard directly from our players and our guests."

Goldhoff took on a new position in March. He became president of the Casino Association of New Jersey while keeping his role at the property. The trade group speaks for Atlantic City's nine casinos.

"It is an honor to step into the role of Casino Association of New Jersey president and continue the strong foundation that Mark Giannantonio helped build," said Goldhoff in a March press release. He started as president of the casino in January 2023.

The location has poured more than $700 million into the old Taj Mahal building since acquiring it in 2018. These newest changes follow what turned out to be a banner year in 2025.

New restaurants open this year. Sitar and Federal Donuts & Chicken join the lineup. Charlie Puth shows up May 30, James Taylor arrives June 27, and Nikki Glaser closes out the list Aug. 1.

Convention room nights at the site shattered all previous records in 2025, with tracking dating back to 1990. The 29th East Coast Gaming Congress will take place there April 14-15.

"We have one of the largest footprints of banquet and convention spaces in all of Atlantic City, quite frankly, on the East Coast," said Goldhoff.

Since opening in 2018, the casino has backed more than 500 area organizations. USA Today gave the property a Top Workplaces Award for 2025.
