Jersey Mike’s Subs Takes No. 1 Spot in Entrepreneur’s 2026 Franchise 500 Ranking

Jersey Mike's Subs grabbed the top franchise spot in Entrepreneur magazine's 2026 Franchise 500 list. The news broke Tuesday.

The ranking examines performance across unit growth, financial strength, stability, marketing and operational support, and brand power. Entrepreneur's annual ranking, now in its 47th year, is viewed as the gold standard in the franchise industry.

The sandwich chain, based in Manasquan, New Jersey, started in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. What began as a single sandwich shop has mushroomed into a fast-casual chain. More than 3,200 locations now stretch across the U.S. and Canada.

The brand focuses on fresh-sliced and grilled-to-order subs. Strong ties to local communities have fueled consistent growth and high franchisee satisfaction.
