State Theatre Hosting ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas Live’ on Nov. 29

State Theatre New Jersey will present A Charlie Brown Christmas Live On Stage on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Over 300,000 tickets have been purchased across previous holiday seasons.

Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the Peanuts gang come to life onstage. Sets glow under bright lights while dancers move in colorful outfits, bringing viewers into the story as characters find what Christmas means and perform songs honoring composer Vince Guaraldi.

Charles Schulz created the Peanuts world. His Emmy and Peabody Award-winning tale became a tradition when it aired on television almost 60 years ago. A Charlie Brown Christmas Live On Stage includes every scene from that original animated show. When the final bow ends, a celebration begins — the Peanuts gang sings Christmas songs and carols.

The venue marked its 100th anniversary after major renovations in December 2021. Workers built it as a silent film and vaudeville palace.

PBS featured the theater in its series, Treasures of New Jersey. This location has helped revitalize New Brunswick, which Jersey's Best magazine crowned "Jersey's Best Destination of the Year" for 2025.

This nonprofit organization is the largest performing arts center in Central New Jersey. Over six and a half million people have walked through its doors since reopening as a nonprofit performing arts center in 1988.

The facility averages a total economic impact on New Brunswick and the surrounding area of more than $18 million a year. Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Kevin Hart, Ringo Starr, Melissa Etheridge, John Leguizamo, Harry Connick, Jr., Peter Frampton, and Leanne Morgan have performed on its mainstage.

Tickets start at $34 and are available online or by calling Guest Services at 732-246-SHOW (7469). A VIP Meet & Greet package is also available. Guest Services, located at 15 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick, New Jersey, is open by phone and email Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For in-person purchases, Guest Services is open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 4:30 p.m.
