After months of work, Winter Street Park welcomes visitors back with major upgrades at the corner of George and Anita Avenue. The site now boasts fresh additions: a pavilion, gazebo, dog area, and updated sports spaces.

Workers fixed the basketball and tennis courts, put in new paths, and upgraded the play area with additional swings. Public Works staff tackled these tasks as Edison pushes forward with its park improvement goals.

"This project demonstrates our commitment to maintaining all 32 upgraded Township parks for residents to enjoy," Mayor Sam Joshi said in a statement to Patch. "We want each park to serve as a gathering place where families can connect, unwind, and stay active together."

Officials marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting event. Council members stood alongside Public Works staff to celebrate the finished updates.

These changes fit into Edison's wider vision for better public spaces. The updates aim to serve visitors of every age with varied interests and needs.

Dogs now have their own space to run free. Athletes can practice on the updated courts. The new structures provide spots for groups to meet and families to spend time outside.

Kids will find safer, more exciting play options. Fresh swings stand ready next to the existing equipment, adding more fun choices for young visitors.

A smooth, new path winds through the grounds. It connects each area smoothly, making walks and exercise easier for everyone who visits.
