Somerset’s Verdant Therapy Helping LA Wildfire Victims
With the devastation from the Los Angeles wildfires affecting so many people, we are doing whatever we can, big or small, to help make the situation more bearable for those involved.
One of our neighbors has stepped up to do what they can to soften the blow for those who fell victim to this unbelievable tragedy.
Clinical Social Worker and Therapist, Dr. Rikki Lyn McCarthy and the kind folks at Verdant Therapy and Visionary Studio have teamed with the Mailbox Business Center of Hillsborough to aid those affected on the West Coast.
They’re collecting and shipping canned goods, dry goods and non-perishables from their Central Jersey neighbors. They’re asking that you drop off anything you can on their porch at their location at 1201 Hamilton Street. All items will be shipped on February 3, 2025, thanks to the generosity of the Mailbox Business Center on Route 206 in Hillsborough.
They’re also planning a cardmaking “Cards for Cali” free event on February 1st.
You can easily drop off and drive off any day except Sunday and know you’ve joined your Central Jersey neighbors in helping others in need.
The Verdant Therapy and Visionary Studio page reads “Part of social work is a duty to respond to the needs of the community; both the one in our backyard and the one at large. Thanks to our training at Verdant Therapy, we have decided the honorable thing to do is step up and use our platforms and media presence to develop a food drive for the Los Angeles Food Bank just south of the active fires. For those who have lost homes, livelihoods, or most tragically- loved ones- the gift of knowing that there is food available and caring individuals even on the other side of the continent is the very least we can do.”
