While New Jersey, or Jersey towns don’t appear on this list, we all know that many of us are looking to move out of our state. This article shows which locations we may want to and may not want to relocate with our families.
Redfin reports that a notable migration trend is happening right now in the real estate market. People are looking to get away from the soaring costs of high-priced cities. The South and Southwest are the hotspots that potential homebuyers are flocking toward. Las Vegas leading the pack as the most popular destination.
Their study has revealed that nearly 26% of property searches online are now directed toward cities where they don’t currently reside. This is the highest percentage in six years, and it shows a significant shift in homebuyer preferences.
Homeownership costs are the main reason for this. Buyers are coming mostly from cities known for their extremely high real estate prices, like New York and Los Angeles. For example, the median price of a house in Las Vegas is $412,000. The median price in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle are all more than double that amount. Los Angeles’ median is $975,000, San Fran’s is just over 1.4 million, and Seattle’s at $826,000.
Redfin’s analysis of 100 metro areas has shown the top 10 cities experiencing a considerable net inflow of property searches. Net inflow is the net number of people looking to move into a city minus the people looking to leave. Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Tampa top this list. They offer more affordable housing alternatives compared to the cities that people are moving from.
The top 10 cities people are looking to relocate to are Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tampa, Orlando, Sacramento, North Port-Sarasota, Cape Coral, Dallas, Miami, and Houston.
On the flip side, cities like San Francisco, New York City, and Los Angeles are witnessing substantial net outflow of property searches. In search of budget-friendly options, many are leaving the coastal towns in search of low-tax states and more reasonably priced homes.
Other top cities that people are leaving are Washington, D.C., Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Hartford, Denver, and Detroit.
Bon Jovi: Their 35 Best Songs, Ranked
Bon Jovi has been active for over four decades, and they aren’t showing signs of slowing down.
Their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame career has netted them over 130 million albums sold worldwide and legions of fans spanning generations.
Narrowing down their catalog to a select number of songs and ranking them is a daunting task, but here are Bon Jovi’s 35 best songs, ranked.
The Latest on Bon Jovi
A new docuseries about Bon Jovi is set to premiere on Hulu on April 26. The docuseries is titled Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.
The docuseries also has the cooperation of all Bon Jovi members, both past and present. A teaser trailer of the docuseries offers a supercut of the band’s wild career, including the exit of guitarist Richie Sambora.
Additionally, the teaser trailer shows Jon Bon Jovi in a hospital bed. He’s holding a dry-erase board that simply says, “I’m good.” Meanwhile, an unidentified voiceover says, “Jon’s going through his challenges.” It then cuts to JBJ saying, “It almost killed us.”
The “challenges” appear to be about Bon Jovi’s recent vocal issues, which he discussed during the Pollstar Live! conference in February 2024.
Per Ultimate Classic Rock, Bon Jovi said, “It’s become public knowledge now, but I’ve had major reconstructive surgery in my vocal cords, and I never had anything like this, ever. So it’s been a difficult road, but I found a doctor in Philadelphia who did something called a medialization, because one of my cords was literally atrophied.”
A description of Thank You, Goodnight from Hulu also promises it will delve into the band’s “most public moments of friction.” Of course, this is likely a reference to the 2013 exit of Sambora, who has often talked about the potential of rejoining the band.
