Spears adds: “It was really weird because my dancers took the stage for this song. Oh well !!! I listened to this song today and actually realized it for the first time.”
The singer went on to allude to how her 13-year conservatorship prevented her from realizing her love for the The Blackout album sooner. “I guess it was all those rules you know !!!” she continued. “Guess all those rules and not having a voice for 13 years in what I wanted gave a lot of people a thrill ride !!! Oh well !!! Psss no wonder I quit the business JUST SAYING !!!”
Britney hasn’t released any music since her 2016 record Glory. Last year, she collaborated with Elton John for “Hold Me Closer,” which peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is a spin on John’s 1971 classic “Tiny Dancer.” Since then, she has made it clear on multiple occasions that she has no plans on returning to the industry and would rather lead a private life with her husband, Sam Asghari. In September, she said that the conservatorship and its fallout had left her feeling that she would rather “Jennifer Lopez is one of Tristar clients, Britney is making the point that Lou Taylor wouldn’t do to Jlo what she did to her because Jlo family wouldn’t let them. pic.twitter.com/Yj2llC2sAP
