Harry Styles Nominated for Prestigious Awards
He had big wins at the Grammys and the BRIT Awards, and now Harry Styles is hoping to do the same at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards, also known as The Ivors.
The awards have been handed out since 1956, and are the most prestigious music honor in the United Kingdom. They celebrate excellence in British and Irish songwriting, and are peer awards, voted on by British and Irish songwriters and composers.
Harry and his collaborator Kid Harpoon are the leading nominees with three. They’ve been nominated for Songwriter of the Year, “As It Was” is nominated for Best Song Musically and Lyrically, and Most Performed Work. The Most Performed Work award has to do with the song that’s been heard the most via broadcast, online, and general performances over the past year.
Also nominated in the Most Performed Work category is Ed Sheeran‘s “Bad Habits,” which won last year. He’s the first person ever to have their song nominated for a second year after winning. Ed Sheeran’s “Shivers” is included in the same category, along with “Heat Waves” by Glass Animals, and 37 years after it was originally nominated for Best Contemporary Song, “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush was nominated too.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on May 18. This year Sting is being given the Ivors’ highest honor and he’ll become a Fellow of the Academy.

Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour is currently the hottest ticket in the country. After the complete chaos of TicketMaster-gate, the wait is finally over. 2023 Eras Tour kicked off in Glendale, Arizona, at State Farm Stadium on March 17. Lots of celebrities have shown up at the concerts.

Big stars always show up for Taylor’s shows. But this time she might need the support from friends more than ever. She and Joe Alwyn recently broke up. The pop star and actor had been together for six years, even through the pandemic. He lasted for six Taylor Swfit albums!

The Grammy-winning artist includes songs from every album. The show is divided into each album, featuring a different “era” in her life and career, including, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Evermore, Folklore, Lover, and her latest album, Midnights. You can expect to hear a handful of songs from each album at the concert and some surprise songs, such as “Tim McGraw” or “Mirrorball,” both of which she performed on opening night.
