Chick-fil-A Gets Approval To Build New N.J. Location
Chick-fil-A is continuing to expand in the Garden State. The popular chicken chain has recently gotten approval to open another restaurant in New Jersey, according to My Central Jersey.
The new Chick-fil-A will be located on Route 18 in East Brunswick. It is replacing a gas station. According to My Central Jersey, the new restaurant will occupy 5,000 square feet and have 80 inside and 22 outside seats. It will have dual drive-thru restaurant across 1.44 acres. The Safelite AutoGlass building at the site will remain. Access to the restaurant will be from both Route 18 and Sixth Street.
The opening date will soon be announced but the nearest locations Chick-fil-A’s to here are in North Brunswick, Edison, Old Bridge, South Plainfield and Woodbridge.
Chick-fil-A is famous for its chicken sandwiches, tenders, waffle fries, lemonades and milkshakes.
Chick-fil-A was founded by S. Truett Cathy who started in the restaurant business with his brother, Ben, in 1946. The Atlanta diner was known as The Dwarf Grill (later renamed The Dwarf House) at the time. In 1967, Cathy founded and opened the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta’s Greenbriar Shopping Center. Ownership has been kept in the family as Cathy’s son Dan was the company’s CEO in 2013 and grandson Andrew, who serves as the current Chick-fil-A CEO.
There are 59 Chick-fil-A locations in New Jersey and over 2,600 locations nationwide.
