Ford’s Self-Driving Car Repossesses Itself When Owners Don’t Pay
The Daily Mail says Ford recently patented a self-driving car that repossesses itself if the owner fails to keep up with payments. The car will reportedly drive itself back to a showroom or scrapyard when accounts become delinquent.Ford also patented a system that disables comfort features like music and air conditioning to warn owners that they must make a payment. The system plays annoying sounds like chiming or buzzing and can even completely disable the car so it becomes undrivable.Ford believes the system will be effective because owners tend to be argumentative when contacted about delinquent payments.
