Now, America’s favorite singing contest is returning for Season 21, and finally, it's underway. Last year’s judges are returning, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan, as is original host Ryan Seacrest for a new season of some of the best and worst singing. The winner of the entire competition fulfills their dream by winning a recording contract and $250,000 cash.
If you’re wondering what the complete schedule is, here is the info you’re looking for.
Auditions took place in August and September of last year via Zoom, and the show will last until May. All of the contestants who make it past Hollywood Week will perform at Disney's Aulani Resort & Spa in Hawaii. That’s when they’ll be mentored by Noah Cyrus and Allen Stone.
According to ABC, the schedule so far includes Part 1 of the auditions on February 19th, Part 2 of the Auditions on February 29th, and Part 3 of the auditions on March 5th.
Usually, the auditions go until the middle of March, and then Hollywood Week happens the first week of April. The top 12 are expected to be chosen by the middle of April, and the Finals will most likely be live at the end of May, early June at the latest.
American Idol airs on ABC, however, if you’re not able to watch when it airs and you don’t have a DVR, each and every episode will be available the next day on Hulu.
