I know there are a lot of kids who get impatient and want their braces taken off at any cost, especially if they have a big occasion coming up like school pictures or a prom.  Kids do not realize that they need patience because it takes time for the teeth to move into new spaces in their mouth. Would you be outraged after you have spent thousands of dollars on the braces for your kid and they decided to take it upon themselves to remove them? Parents, you may want to brace yourself  for the new trend that has kids stealing a metal spoon from your utensil drawer and ordering orthodontic removing pliers from Amazon.

Rare News says teenagers are removing their braces with ordinary metal spoons. The trend started on Tik-Tok as teens posted videos of themselves removing their hardware. Some teens are buying removal pliers on Amazon for $11.79.  These teens thought of everything, including how to remove the glue left on their teeth from their braces. They are using an electric nail file to remove the glue on their teeth. Dentists of course are begging teens not to remove braces on their own.  One thing these kids need to realize is that after the braces get removed, your teeth shift without a retainer.  Not wearing a retainer, just wasted the entire process and money of having braces on in the first place!
