Dropping Today: Check Out New Michael Jackson Video for Thriller 40th Anniversary
If you grew up in the eighties chances are that you owned a copy of Michael Jackson’s sixth studio album when it exploded on the radio early in the decade. Every DJ had two copies of it so they could mix all the hits it had. It was produced by Quincy Jones who also produced his previous record, “Off the Wall” three years earlier.
The anniversary of the release of Jackson’s best-selling album is coming up on November 30th. Sony is celebrating the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” album, and in honor of the milestone of the legendary record, they’re dropping a new animated lyric video for one of the many hit songs “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” today at 10am.
The Thriller 40th anniversary celebration includes the just-released Thriller 40 double CD set, which features both the original album and a second disc with never-before-released tracks. The album is also available on vinyl at Walmart and Target. The Walmart version features an alternative cover, while Target’s comes with a 40 slipmat. They also have 4K versions of the album’s short films for “Beat It” and “Thriller” which are now available.
Michael Jackson’s Thriller has sold over 100 million copies since its November 30, 1982, release. It went on to win eight Grammys and spent more than 500 weeks on the Billboard album chart. here’s the music video that changed music videos.
