IWF 25th Anniversary Wrestling Event Coming to New Brunswick

When I was a kid I was a big wrestling fan. I would watch every week on tv and my dad would take me and my friends and cousins to the matches from time to time. Bob Backlund, Ivan Putski, George "The Animal" Steal, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, and Tito Santana were some of my favorites.

We had the opportunity to speak with a couple of professional wrestlers on the show recently. Joining us in-studio IWF (Independent Wrestling Federation) wrestlers Benjamin T. Asher, also a former Rutgers student, and Kevin Knight who's been with the IWF since its inception in 1998.

They stopped in to promote their IWF 25th Anniversary Event on December 10th at 6:00 PM at New Brunswick Middle School. The IWF is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year and features world-class athletes locked in the intense competition of muscle and power, all to benefit City of New Brunswick Recreation.

Headlining the family-friendly entertainment ALIVE 25 extravaganza is the aforementioned WWE Hall of Famer Tito Santana,  and WWE Legend Nunzio.  New Jersey Broadcasters Association Hall of Famer Bert Baron will emcee.

Tito Santana is a two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, two-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and competed in the first nine WrestleMania events. Nunzio is a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and an ECW original.

Also battling will be IWF Heavyweight Champion Dark Oracle Sage, IWF Tag Team Champion Master of Chaos Kevin Knight, IWF American Champion Supersonic KC Bonilla, All-American Robert Atkins, and East Side Dave McDonald, Benjamin T. Asher, Justin Bongiovi, Jason Hendrix, Mad King Glenn Burgess, The Punisher Zay Spaulding, El Famoso Eloy Fiesta, Rico Gold, Cacique Tone, Eric Perez, Ezon Leverett and Julian Mendez.
