What Not To Wear To The Polls On Election Day

One week from Tuesday, Americans will head to the polls to vote in the midterm elections.  But it's important to make sure you're properly dressed for the occasion.  You may not be aware but, elections have a dress code. The laws are specific to each state, and they are enforced by poll workers.  Voters who show up at the polls with overtly political apparel or accessories can be asked to either leave the polling site  or  cover up their candidate supportive apparel.  Twenty-one U.S. states have electioneering laws that ban shirts, hats, or buttons with a candidate's name or likeness. Laws vary by state - some ban campaign items of a certain size, while others won't let you within 200 feet of a polling place.  Check your local voting guidelines before heading to the polls.
