Ukrainian Woman and Her Cat Document their Escape From The War
In honor of Ukrainian Independence Day we want to share one story of a woman who was strong enough to escape with her best furry friend by her side. There are many different kinds of relationships you can have with your cat; however, this dancer and her cat have made a bond that can’t easily be broken even by the tides of the devastating war currently inflicting the people of Ukraine. Now Jennifer and her cat Simba document their journey across the globe.
Jennifer Shyshkina, and her cat Simba have been a great pair since the dancer rescued him from the street back in 2021. Though the cat wasn’t much of a fan of the outdoors, now according to Jennifer he is a true outdoors cat. This came in handy as the pair like many others fled the recently war-torn country of Ukraine. Documenting their journey through Jennifer’s Instagram @jen_shishka
Thankfully making it out unharmed, the duo landed in South France though for them the road was not an easy one showing how much strength and courage Jennifer and Simba have. Now the pair travel the world having visited twenty-six different countries and six US States. Jennifer credits the young lion for getting her through some of the darkest and toughest moments of her life. Now it’s just another part of their impactful story of hope.
Ukraine celebrates their 31st Annual Independence Day in which they declared themselves an independent nation back in 1991. The story of Jennifer and Simba is a reminder that sometimes the strongest will can come even from the smallest cat and a loving owner.
