Tik Tok Members Using Victoria’s Secret Perfume To Ward Off Mosquitos

A fun fact about me: mosquitoes love me. If we are at an outdoor BBQ and you are concerned about getting eaten by mosquitoes, just sit by me and I guarantee you will not have one bite taken out of you, but I will look like a bumpy gourd by the end of the festivities. The gift of itching that they leave me with, is a gift I can do without! I would love to find something that actually works to repel them. So when TikTok users are swearing about how effective Victoria Secrets perfume is, I figure I should give it a whirl.
Elite Daily says Tik-Tok members are dousing themselves in Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Eau de Parfum because they believe it wards off mosquitoes. The trend started on July 2nd when a user went online and claimed the perfume was keeping mosquitoes away from her in Alabama. A 2015 study published in the Journal of Insect Science seemed to back the claim.

Dermatologist Marissa Garshick says, “In this particular study, higher concentrations of these particular fragrances were used and at lower concentrations, it may not be as effective. Our fragrances are not designed nor have they been approved for use as an insect repellant.”
