These type of stories are always heart breaking, especially when they take place in our own back yard. A 20 year old man has been charged with raping a 12 year old girl he met online. On July 26th, the victim made it aware to authorities that she was sexually assaulted by a man she had met online through social media in Bound Brook.

The investigation was held by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes & Child Abuse Unit and detectives from the Bound Brook Borough Police Department. From their investigation into the case, it was discovered that suspect, Lenic S. Galvin provided the victim with transportation to his house which was where the crime eventually took place.

Lenic S. Galvin was taken into custody on July 27th and is currently being held at the Somerset County Jail until his court hearing. He is being charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault by contact, and third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.
