If you’re like my wife or just about anybody in Central Jersey who is a fan of Bridgerton, you hoping and praying that  Rege-Jean Page aka the Duke of Hastings, will return to the show. He hasn’t been seen since season one of Bridgerton ended.  Here’s the bad news, according to RJP, it doesn’t seem like he’ll be making a return anytime soon. So the answer, for now, is no.

He appeared on yesterday’s Good Morning America, and host Michael Strahan asked him, “What do you say to all those fans, they’re still  clamoring and waiting for you to come back?”

Rege-Jean said “I mean, I’ll take the compliment that’s built in there,” he continues by saying “I’m so glad that they had a good time and they want more. Shonda and I are still super proud of how we stuck that landing.” Shonda Rhimes is the creator of Bridgerton.

He added even more by sharing, “Much like we were talking about playing villains, Simon started from a very dark place. He was emotionally broken and the fact that we had this beautiful redemption arc is what feels so good about him. He is now married, he has kids, he’s emotionally available, he’s communicating. They lived happily ever after, we’re not gonna touch that.”

Everyone loved when Bridgerton came on the scene and quickly became a cultural phenomenon when it hit Netflix at the end of 2020. The first season focused on the love story between Page’s character and Phoebe Dynevor‘s Daphne Bridgerton. Each season of the series, which is based on Julia Quinn‘s collection of novels of the same name, will, like the books, focus on a different member of the Bridgerton’s love story.  Season two, centered around Jonathan Bailey‘s Anthony Bridgerton, the family’s oldest son, which premiered earlier this year. Season three is now in the works and is expected to focus on the family’s third son, Colin, played by Luke Newton.

So for now, we’ll all have to go elsewhere if we want to get an eyeful of Mr. Rege-Jean Page. Such as his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night…
