This Latest Tiktok Trend Has Caused Cinemas To Take Action
Over the past few years, TikTok has become one of the most used mobile apps in the world with over one billion active monthly users being reported in late 2021.
We’ve also seen hundreds of trends take the world by storm, some for good causes and others not so much. This latest TikTok trend has seen rapid popularity and has even sparked attention from the media.

Known as the #gentleminions trend what does it actually entail? Well, it’s no secret that the latest Illumination film Minions: The Rise of Gru has been killing it at the box office breaking the record for the most successful July 4th weekend opening.
Part of that fame is due to TikTok and well-known content creators such as Mr. Beast. The trend is silly; however, it has more implications than you may think.
All you have to do is go to a showing of the film dressed in formal clothing as if you were going to a dance or dinner. This could be easy as a tie and button-up all the way to a three-piece suit.
I love being gen z. We have so much power😭💀💀🤌🏼 #tiktok #MinionsTheRiseOfGru #Minions #gentleminions pic.twitter.com/2OUarPhubj

Mr. Beast runs one of the most subscribed YouTube channels as well as other projects such as Mr. Beast Burger. However, he is known for his largely produced and largely expensive videos. Well, he rented out a theater just for a TikTok showing him his friends and a bunch of other people watching the minions in formal wear.
However, some movie theaters aren’t too happy with this trend just like the #deviusliick trend that spiraled out of control causing property damage earlier this year.
Some attendants at shows have been banned from showings due to rowdy behavior as well as throwing things during showings of the films. Leading some theaters to ban anyone trying to watch the film while wearing a suit.

Now, this isn’t all cinemas as some are loving the attention from this trend and however, some few can spoil the fun for the whole bunch so as we get further into the film’s release, we may see more or fewer incidents occurring. Until then we’ll keep you updated on all the latest TikTok or Entertainment trends as more information becomes available.
