My Wife is Excited Over New Taylor Swift That Dropped Today [Video]
My wife, Kathleen, is a HUGE Swifty!! If it’s Taylor Swift she’s reading, listening, watching, or talking about it. Carolina is one of those instances. Carolina (video below) is the new song from Tay-Tay that dropped hours ago and will be featured in the upcoming movie Where the Crawdads Sing.
The woman who’s won over 460 awards for her music asked her fans yesterday to make room on their playlists and provided a link so everyone who calls themselves a Swifty can pre-save the new tune that is sure to garner her some more awards. Taylor used musical instruments from the early 1950s and recorded the song in one take, which was the way many songs were produced back then. While there isn’t much more information about the song, my wife and her fellow Swifties are hoping for more today.
Taylor announced the song a few months ago when she posted on Instagram, Where The Crawdads Sing is a book I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago. As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side.”
She also mentioned that she wrote the song herself and then approached Aaron Dessner who was one of the producers on her albums “Folklore” and “Evermore” to work on Carolina. She shared in the post, “I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story.”
Author Delia Owens wrote Where the Crawdads Sing. The book was released in 2018 and has spent over one hundred fifty weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list.
I know where my wife and I will be on July 15th, that’s the date of the movie release. We’ll be in some Central Jersey theatre watching Where the Crawdads Sing featuring a song from the fabulous Taylor Swift:)
