The Weeknd Fuels Angelina Jolie Dating Rumors With ‘Dawn FM’ Song

The Weeknd’s rumored romance with Angelina Jolie seems to be referenced on his new album, Dawn FM (released today, January 7).

The crooner that he’s dating the actress with lyrics from the album’s eighth track, “Here We Go… Again,” addressing a new relationship. “My new girl, she’s a movie star,” he sings, apparently adding of their sex life, “I loved her right / Make her scream like Neve Campbell."

The lyrics go on: “But I make her laugh / Swear it cures my depressing thoughts / ‘Cause, baby girl, she a movie star / Baby girl, she a movie star / I told myself that I’d never fall / But here we go again.”

The pair first sparked rumors that they were dating when they were photographed exiting Los Angeles hotspot Giorgio Baldi together over the summer, but a source said it was likely business-related, as The Weeknd has gotten more involved in the acting game.

“They’re clearly not trying to hide [the dinner date],” a source said at the time. “He’s definitely focused on getting to the movie business. He has the new HBO series he’s starring in.” HBO is developing The Idol, which follows a female pop singer who starts a romance with an enigmatic L.A. club owner who is the leader of a secret cult.

As we reported in October, Jolie avoided answering a question about the nature of her relationship with Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd's real name) while promoting her latest movie, Eternals while appearing on E!’s Daily Pop with co-star Salma Hayek. Host Justin Sylvester asked Jolie if her children are more excited about her Marvel film or her friendship with the “Blinding Lights” singer.

“Now, I have to know because Angelina, your kids are at a certain age where they have opinions, so I have to know: Were they more excited that you were in the Eternals or that you are friends with The Weeknd?”

“They’re very excited about… this film, if that’s what you’re asking,” a smiling Jolie said, glancing at her co-star Salma. “They’re very excited about this film,” she repeated.
