In 1989, New Kids On The Block scored their second US number 1 single with ‘Hangin’ Tough‘. The song was also a number 1 in the UK in 1990. The group also went to number 1 on the US album chart on this day with ‘Hangin Tough’.
In 2007, Taylor Swift released ‘Our Song’; which was the third single from her self-titled debut studio album. It became Swift’s first number 1 single on the Hot Country Songs chart, maintaining the position for six consecutive weeks. The track made Swift the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number 1 song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
